Climate change brings milder winters with less snow, creating new experiences for mountain biking enthusiasts. At Bikenomad, we first encountered this in 1996 when we organized the first MTB race on snow. Today, with e-bikes and modern winter gear, cycling is even easier – all year round.
The sunny winter landscapes around Jamnica and the Ecohotel Koroš provide the perfect backdrop for rides on snowy forest trails. Regularly cleared roads ensure a safe and thrilling experience that will leave you inspired.
The Single Trail Park Jamnica is open year-round. Even when there’s no snow, the trails present a unique challenge – covered in leaves, slippery roots, and frozen sections that put riders’ skills to the test.
Cycling in the mine beneath Mount Peca and on the Black Hole Trail is independent of the weather. With a constant temperature of about 10°C, they guarantee a perfect day on the bike, even in winter.
For us at Ecohotel Koroš, cycling is a way of life. Winter is not an obstacle but an opportunity for new adventures and skill development.

Friday: Upon arrival at Ecohotel Koroš, you will receive a personal briefing about the current cycling tour options. Prepare for a weekend full of winter adventures, regardless of snow conditions.
Saturday: In the morning, explore the hilly forest trails of the Karawanken Geopark by bike or embark on a unique underground adventure through the mining tunnels beneath Mount Peca. After lunch in Mežica, enjoy an afternoon ride with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Back in Jamnica, a hot homemade apple cider awaits you as the sunset paints the winter sky in magical colors. If you feel cold, you can warm up in our sauna. End the evening with a dinner of local specialties produced on our farm and inspiring cycling films.
Sunday: In the morning, take a mountain bike tour through the picturesque surroundings of Jamnica, discovering the beauty of untouched nature. In the afternoon, depart for home, filled with impressions and memories of wintery Jamnica, with or without snow!

Day 2: Adrenaline and panoramas
Begin the day with a winter "skills training" session to master riding on slippery terrain – ideal for those looking to try something new. If snow conditions permit, you can enjoy the trails in the Single Trail Park Jamnica or explore the snowy forest paths of the Karawanken Geopark with stunning views. Back at the hotel, warm up with a hot homemade apple cider as the sunset paints the winter sky in magical colors. Unwind completely with a sauna session and enjoy the soothing ambiance after your cycling adventure.
Day 3: Black Hole Trail – Underground adventure
For true adventurers, we offer a one-of-a-kind experience: a ride down the famous Black Hole Trail – a 4-hour adrenaline-packed journey through mining tunnels, suitable for experienced mountain bikers. The first section of the descent can also be done on foot upon prior agreement.
For a more relaxed option, a classic 2-hour cycling tour through the mine is available.
After lunch in Mežica, enjoy an afternoon ride with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Conclude the day with a hot apple cider and a relaxing massage, followed by a dinner of local specialties from our farm. End your evening with inspiring cycling films.
Day 4: Morning ride and departure
Before your departure, take advantage of the morning for a scenic mountain bike ride in the Jamnica area. Be captivated by the untouched nature and create unforgettable memories.
