The Koroš estate is a typical Carinthian mountain farm with its own forests, pastures, orchards and fields.

In the fields, which cover the steep slopes, potatoes as well as rye and spelt are grown. We use the harvested grain to make our own bread.

There is a wide selection of vegetables in our two gardens: different types of lettuce, parsley, celery, leek, onion, garlic, carrot, beetroot, turnip, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprout, mangold, peas, pumpkins, beans etc. We even grow tomato plants in our greenhouse.

What is more, we grow our own herbs such as sage, tarragon, the common rue, thyme, marjoram, lovage, basil, mint, balm-mint, camomile, pot marigold, saffron and chive. In our orchard, traditional types of apples, pears, plums, currants, cherries and sour cherries are grown.

We also have blueberries, wild strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms and a variety of tea herbs (elder, linden, nettle, milfoil and other)

The animals are freely bred, which means that they are free to go out of the barn; they are pastured from April to October. Cows and calves are never separated and since calves suckle from their mothers, it often happens that we need to buy milk from our neighbours. We also produce most of the animal fodder ourselves.
